The Smallest Show on Earth
Circuses could be bizarre but they could also be fascinating. They were filled with people who had unbelievable skills and history. I created most of these pieces in 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic. I wanted to make a collection that would give people something colorful and amusing to brighten their spirits.
The Circus pieces range in size from a sardine can to something a little bigger than a bread box. They are very colorful and often light-hearted. I include some pieces about women in the history of the circus. Women whom I found to have remarkable talents and courage. I wanted to honor them and their combined spirit.
My circus travels around the Minnesota and Wisconsin, as circuses did. It shows up in pubic libraries and hospitals that have suitable display cases. I thereby achieve my goal of having the Smallest Show on Earth available for many people to enjoy.
